Body Spray
Body spray is designed to be sprayed directly onto the body. The ratio of fragrance oil compared to the alcohol and water is very low, giving it a more mild fragrance. Body spray is best suited as something that is reapplied throughout the day in small increments. Due to the mild concentration of fragrance oils, the body spray blends well with the natural scent of the person, giving a subtle scent.
Perfume
With a fragrance oil ratio of 20%, you will find perfume will last from getting ready in the morning, to getting home in the evening. Perfumes have the highest concentrate compared to all other types, lasting up to eight hours without being reapplied. People with sensitive skin will find it beneficial to wear perfume as it has the lowest amount of alcohol, making for less chance of a reaction.
Eau de Parfum
Parfum has a ratio of fragrance oil making up 15 to 20% of the product, and will last up to four to five hours. This fragrance type is relatively reliable and typically cheaper than perfume making it a budget friendly option.
Eau du Toilette
Eau de toilette has a fragrance oil ratio making up about 5 to 15% meaning it will last roughly three hours. The term "eau du toilette" comes from the French term “faire sa toilette” which translates in English to getting ready. If you are someone who wants to use this fragrance type in the morning while getting ready, we recommend bringing it along with you as you will most likely need to reapply it during the day.
Eau de Cologne
Cologne has the lowest concentration making up only 2 to 4 % and has a much higher alcohol content, this fragrance type will typically only last two to three hours. The original recipe for cologne was made with herbs and citrus invented in the 1700s.
Eau Fraiche
Fraiche has the lowest amount of fragrance concentrate, the fragrance oil making up only 1 to 3%. Although this fragrance type is low in fragrance oil and may not last as long, it also has a very low alcohol content, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.
